Is it true? Is there really salmonella in peanut butter coming from Georgia, specifically Peter Pan and Great Value peanut butter? There have been many cases involving this disease, but 60% of them started after December 1st. Salmonella is a germ similar to E.coli. Basically, salmonella is a bacteria that can cause many diseases caused by eating food that has it in it. The germ can be passed from the excretory waste of one organism to another. Sometimes, this germ is in manure, which is used to grow vegetables, where many animal droppings are found. The Center for Disease Control has proved that the perilous germ is definitely in the bacteria. A family in Pennsylvania filed a case against the companies involved that a relative died from Salmonellosis, a disease caused by this germ, although there have been no positive deaths.
I think all this news about bacteria being found in foods is because of the carelessness of the manufacturers. If anyone dies, they should be held responsible. I mean who knows what could be in their food, but the manufacturers should check the foods. Many people have been hospitalized with Salmonellosis symptons for so long, even though this news just hit the news. This should have been brought to are eyes months ago when it started in August. About 40,000 people are diagnosed with this disease every year in the United States. Of those 40, 000 people, about 600 die! Why? Because we don't know about this bacteria!
This is science and life related because bacteria affects the whole world in some way or the other. Bacteria is found all over the place, good and bad. All organisms are entitled to diseases sometime in their life. If you look at it, salmonella comes from the waste of people and animals and is passed on from people to people and from animal to animal. But people should be careful about what they eat. If they think something is wrong with what they are eating, then they should throw it away.
